Hartfield, VA, April 02, 2009 --(PR.com
)-- Zymetrical Novelties (www.zymetrical.com), an online discount novelty company, is one which is bucking the overall slump in retail sales these days. The company has seen 2009 as its best April Fools season ever, as more price conscious shoppers seek out discounts & better values in light of an uncertain economy. Many of their products are 50% or more off the MSRP, and volume pricing is available on everything. With prices like these customers don't have to forgo discretionary purchases such as April Fools.
Through targeted marketing efforts such as the free prank ideas supplied by the staff, March 31 turned out to be the company's biggest traffic spike in it's 10 year history. While the company declined to share exact numbers, traffic more than quadrupled for 3/31 compared to that seen on typical Tuesday. "Now we won't be able to tally up the traffic for April Fool's until after midnight, but so far all factors are indicating that today will be even busier than yesterday." says Pete M. with a grin. "While there isn't time to ship gags to them in time for April Fools, many customers will be eager to get back at those who fooled them today -- and their victims wont see it coming then."
"We have always prided ourselves in having the lowest prices of any of our competitors." says Pete, "This year in light of the economic woes, while most competitors have raised prices or slashed marketing budgets, and still others have struggled to keep the doors open, our organization has cut costs even further. And we have doubled our marketing budget to gain more market share." By focusing heavily on inventory management & trimming non-profitable projects & other expenses, the discounter has been able to reduce overhead, all while increasing top line & bottom line revenues. Expansion plans for the construction of an additional distribution center have been temporarily put on hold as well.
The top selling practical jokes this year for Zymetrical have been fake lottery tickets, exploding cigarette loads, shock pens, fart machines, whooppie cushions, stink bombs, and of course the infamous rubber chicken (the company stocks a deluxe & economy version).
