Revitalization Brings New Housing to Historic Downtown Overland Park
Overland Park, KS, June 25, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Regions Development and Neighbors Construction to host the Grand Opening on Energy Star® Certified, maintenance-provided townhomes, within walking distance to goods and services

In historic downtown Overland Park, Kan., new housing options are now available. Regions Development Company LLC announced today that it will host the grand opening Thursday, June 25 on a $5.3 million, 22-unit infill townhome development bordered by 78th Street on the north, Conser Street on the east and Newton Street on the west.

Consistent with Overland Park’s Vision Metcalf plan to revitalize commercial, residential and retail growth along a nine-mile stretch of the city’s main corridor from Interstate 35 to 123rd Street, the Townhomes at Buckley Court will provide a vibrant, “walkable” lifestyle. Located just two blocks north of downtown Overland Park, the project will provide high-quality, energy-efficient living for people who want to live close to shops, restaurants and other services.

“Buckley Court homes offer the perfect lifestyle choice for just about everyone. They follow a nationwide trend of people moving closer to places where they work, shop and socialize,” said John Foudray, Regions’s director of development. “From first-time home buyers to people looking to downsize, almost everything they need – work, dining, the Overland Park Farmer’s Market, the Matt Ross Community Center and shopping – is just steps away.”

The Buckley Court project is located in Overland Park’s Historic Downtown Neighborhood District. Regions and architectural firm Gastinger Walker Harden designed Buckley Court in compliance with District guidelines, which encourage a variety of housing options and a walkable lifestyle that supports downtown businesses.

The homes, include four different floor plans ranging from 980 to 2,300 square feet.

Every home will offer an enclosed garage and either a private courtyard or a terrace.

Buckley Court prices will range from the $130,000s to the $290,000s and include exterior maintenance. All homes at Buckley Court have received the Energy Star® Certification for their energy efficient construction. Energy saving features include 2 x 6 exterior wall construction, double pane low-e windows, and heat pumps for heating and air conditioning.

Thanks to its central location and short walk to goods and services, Buckley Court residents can reduce their drive time and enjoy a short commute to downtown Kansas City and most major Johnson County employers’ offices. Each unit comes standard with wood floors, stainless steel appliances, designer fixtures and nine-foot or vaulted ceilings. “We feel we offer the best value in Johnson County for home buyers looking to reduce dependency on their automobile use, future energy and maintenance costs while enjoying quality construction and luxurious finishes,” Foudray said.

There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony at 11:00 a.m. and a Wine & Cheese Party 5-8 p.m. with all model units open for viewing.

Buckley Court’s contractor is Lenexa, Kan.-based Neighbors Construction, and Reece & Nichols is marketing the development. Learn more at www.BuckleyCourt.com.
