Private Tutoring Service, WyzAnt, Now Offers Text Message Alerts
Chicago, IL, July 14, 2009 --(PR.com)-- WyzAnt, a home tutor service, recently announced it now offers text message alerts to all its tutors. The messages give tutors the opportunity to respond more quickly to urgent study requests from students.

The text message alerts will make it easier for tutors to know exactly what concepts are difficult for students to grasp - immediately. Students will be able to send their tutors a quick study question and tutors will be able to respond rapidly, decreasing down time between questions and answers.

The text message alert system is similar to WyzAnt's email alert process, but instead of sending alerts to a tutor's email in-box, the messages are rerouted to the tutor's mobile phone or handheld device. The text message alert system is elective, although many of the company's tutors are choosing to take part.

"We know that many subjects, especially math, need one step mastered before the student is able to move on to the next. Our text message alerts mean that a math student won't need to sit around waiting a long time for help from his or her physics tutor. Our old system meant that tutors needed to be near a computer in order to get the email alert that their student needed help, but now the message is delivered right to their phone or handheld device. This is just another way we're using technology to provide the service our students expect," said Andrew Geant, CEO of WyzAnt (http://www.wyzant.com).

WyzAnt was founded in September 2005, partially because of the difficulty Geant had finding math students to tutor online. Since then, the company has matched students with tutors using its completely automated system and handles everything else online. Tutors can add or change their profiles and rates, sign up for direct deposit and set up tutoring sessions using the company's website. Students are also able to complete everything online, from finding private tutoring to providing feedback on a session.

"Because all of WyzAnt's tutors go through a certification test before being allowed to meet with students, we confidently offer a satisfaction guarantee to all students. While our tutors are a diverse group including college students, young professionals, teachers, parents and retirees, the most important factor they share is that they all care about their students' success. We look good when our students do well and nothing is more satisfying than having a student come back and tell us they aced their latest test or got an A on their latest paper," said Geant.
