New Fantasy Football iPhone Application Offers Weekly Competition and $10,000 in Prizes

"We made Fantasy Football more fun for everyone. Don't worry about injuries, bye weeks or bad draft picks. It's Monopoly meets Fantasy Football," said Dan Myers, founder of Free The Fan. "I love the idea of picking a new team each week... you re-draft your team every week so even if Tom Brady gets mowed down by a bus (perish the thought!) you won’t be screwed for 17 weeks straight," iPhoneAppReview.net

New York, NY, September 11, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Quick Picks Fantasy GM is available now in the iTunes Store for $1.99.

Quick Picks Fantasy GM is a new game available for the iPhone which is simple to play for football fans of all ages yet advanced enough for the biggest fantasy sports brains. "We made Fantasy Football more fun for everyone. Don't worry about injuries, bye weeks or bad draft picks. It's Monopoly meets Fantasy Football and you're in charge," said Dan Myers, founder of Free The Fan.

The game was developed by Free The Fan, a sports technology company specializing in easy-to-play games that based on real life events. Quick Picks Fantasy GM enables users to act as general managers of their own teams. Each week users are challenged to spend $25 million dollars in virtual money to pick the players that they think will perform best. "I love the idea of picking a new team each week... you re-draft your team every week so even if Tom Brady gets mowed down by a bus (perish the thought!) you won’t be screwed for 17 weeks straight like you probably were last season in your standard fantasy football league," in a review by iPhoneAppReviews.net.

Players are categorized into five price categories ranging from $5 million to $1 million each. The strategy of the game is to choose players that will collectively score the most fantasy points for the week. Users can compete with their friends on Facebook and win great prizes. There are $10,000 in cash and prizes to be awarded as follows:

Weekly Prizes (Each week of the season)
1st Place $200 Cash
2nd Place - $75 Gift Card to Overstock.com
3rd Place - $25 Gift Card to Overstock.com

Season Prizes (Total Points - Weeks 1-17 combined)
1st Place - $1600 cash and $2000 Shopping Spree to Overstock.com
2nd Place $1000 Shopping Spree to Overstock.com
3rd Place $300 Shopping Spree to Overstock.com

The game is simple to play. Each week users will buy a player at each of the 8 positions. The roster will include 1 quarterback, 2 running backs, 2 wide receivers, 1 tight end, 1 kicker and 1 defense. Users must have a complete roster without spending too much money. If more than the $25 million salary cap is spent then changes must be made to the roster before it can be submitted.

Once a user has picked his or her roster for a week then picks can be saved and submitted by using a Facebook account (by directly logging in with Facebook) or by creating a Quick Picks account. Team rosters must be submitted each week before the kickoff of the first game. Teams are only valid for one week which means users can pick new players and revise strategies throughout the football season.

Scores will be posted after real-life games are played each week and updated to the application on the iPhone. Prizes will be given each week so it's never too late to join in the fun. The game is available for purchase at $1.99 from the iTunes store at http://www.tinyurl.com/QuickPicks
