Dallas, TX, September 30, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Dr. Dennis Eisenberg performed a robotic laparoscopy procedure as the first daVinci method robotic surgery at the Baylor Medical Center of Frisco on the hospital’s recently acquired, state of the art, daVinci surgical robot.

Dr. Eisenberg, an 11 year veteran of obstetrics and gynecology in the Dallas / Fort Worth metroplex, is one of the foremost authorities in the State of Texas on robotic gynecologic surgery.

As hospitals invest in robotic surgical equipment, the minimally invasive laparoscopic surgical technique may quickly become a standard hysterectomy method in many situations.

“More and more women and choosing the robotic hysterectomy method,” explained Dr. Eisenberg, “because it is far less traumatic physically and requires a shorter hospital stay than traditional methods. It is a far more precise technique, and results in both less pain and reduced scarring.”

Perhaps the biggest benefit of using the the daVinci robot is that it can allow patients to return to normal activities, including their jobs, in about a week or less for most types of gynecological surgeries performed with it. Reduced hospital stays have an enormous impact on healthcare spend in the United States. Furthermore, employees who are able to return to work sooner increase productivity for employers in a challenging economy.

Doctor Eisenberg will be utilizing the daVinci surgical robot at Baylor Medical Center of Frisco on a regular basis in addition to surgeries he performs at Baylor Medical Center of Plano on similar surgical equipment.
