Novelist Deborah Lee Luskin to Appear at Brattleboro Literary Festival October 2 & 3

Deborah Lee Luskin, the author of the highly acclaimed novel "Into The Wilderness," will make two appearances at the Brattleboro Literary Festival on October 2 and 3.

Brattleboro, VT, September 27, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Author Deborah Lee Luskin will be making two appearances at the Ninth Annual Brattleboro Literary Festival, to be held September 30 through October 3rd. Luskin will be reading from her novel, "Into The Wilderness" on Saturday, October 2 at 3 PM at the Robert H. Gibson River Garden, 157 Main Street, in downtown Brattleboro, Vermont. On Sunday, October 3, Luskin will be a panelist for New Trends in Publishing, at Brooks Memorial Library at 11 AM. Brooks Library is located at 224 Main Street, Brattleboro. Copies of "Into The Wilderness" will be for sale at each venue.

Luskin's reading on Saturday will be part of the Write Action 10th Anniversary Local Author Showcase. 20% of the sales at this event will be donated to Write Action, a community-based, grass-roots writers' organization.

On Sunday's forum about New Trends in Publishing, Luskin will be joined by mystery writer Archer Mayor, poet Ravi Shankar and independent bookseller Ed Morrow. Novelist Suzanne Kingsbury will moderate. Luskin will discuss her experience using a micro-publisher for her novel, "Into The Wilderness."

In addition to these two events, Luskin will facilitate the Vermont Reads discussion of Katherine Paterson's "The Day of the Pelican" at Brooks Memorial Library on Wednesday, September 29th at 7:30 PM, a Festival-affiliated event and part of the state-wide program, where communities gather to discuss a single work. Luskin is a long-time Visiting Scholar for the Vermont Humanities Council, which sponsors Vermont Reads.

Luskin is also a contributor to Write Action's Tenth Anniversary Anthology, which goes on sale at the Literary Festival. Her essay, "Persistence," about publishing "Into The Wilderness," is reprinted in the anthology. The Anthology will be available at the Festival Headquarters at the Robert H. Gibson River Garden, in the heart of downtown.

In addition to writing "Into The Wilderness," Deborah Lee Luskin is a regular commentator for Vermont Public Radio.
