1965. Agents from the CIA and the KGB decide to wage a new campaign to find incredible scientific journals hidden in South America. They belonged to Dr. Helmut Ganzler, a former member of Hitler's First Elite, a group of scientific geniuses.

Ganzler was thought to have escaped from a Soviet compound in Brazil in 1947 when he hid his journals, but then completely vanished off the face of the earth.

For years, the CIA and the KGB believed Ganzler's theories could bolster their military strategy and technologies, thus increasing the odds of winning the Cold War. Believing Ganzler was dead; agents in both agencies relentlessly pursued his work.

When it becomes apparent Ganzler is still alive, both agencies become convinced the first one to find him or his journals will gain technological wealth that is unprecedented. They realize they will benefit from the genius of one man-a man whose thinking, without dispute, was well before its time.

1972. While vacationing reporter Brian Allen Bennett visits a charming villa in Tuscany, Italy, he receives a gift from the mysterious caretaker-a Bible that contains two cryptic documents: a birth certificate dated April 20, 1889, and a letter from a monk verifying the discovery of a baby on the monastery doorstep that same day. Professional analysis of writing throughout the Bible proves that the handwriting is that of Adolf Hitler.

Bennett begins to investigate and learns that the sickly infant abandoned by its father was the twin brother of Adolf Hitler. Even more astoundingly, he grew up to be a monk. Bennett then spends the next six months searching for more clues to Hitler's brother's past while being relentlessly pursued by the infamous pro-Nazi group, Friends of the Third Reich.
