Best Bagged Vacuum List Published by Vacuum Cleaner Advisor
Seattle, WA, June 28, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Every year Vacuum Cleaner Advisor publishes its latest list of the Best Bagged Vacuums. This year’s list contains 7 great machines, including 3 canisters, 3 uprights, and 1 stick vac. Prices range from about $100 to over $1000.

Many top-rated vacuums on the market use dust bags, even though bagless machines have been the rage in recent years. Bagged vacuums have the advantage of cleaner disposal (emptying a bagless dust canister can be a tricky, messy affair). Also, they don’t require the same level of filtration as bagless vacuums, so filter costs are sometimes less.

The Miele Capricorn, Miele Capri and Hoover Portapower are the best canister vacuums on the list. The Capricorn is a no-compromise, top-end Miele canister vacuum. It is lightweight, powerful, features variable suction controls on the handle and comes standard with HEPA filtration and activated carbon for odor elimination. The Capricorn is also designed for 20 years of residential use and to clean all types of flooring - from bare floors to deep pile carpet. The Miele Capri is a much less expensive Miele canister but still gets great reviews from consumers. It is also quiet and powerful but, unlike the Capricorn, is limited to bare floors and short pile carpet. The Hoover Portapower is the least expensive bagged canister on the list and can often be found for about $100. The Portapower is popular with owners, extremely lightweight, and comes with a wide range of attachments. It also doubles as a blower.

The top bagged uprights include the Hoover Commercial Elite, the Hoover UH30010COM and the Miele Cat & Dog. The Hoover Elite is a commercial vacuum but it is also popular with residential users. It is a no-frills unit, but with plenty of power and a lightweight frame it does deliver. It is also very reasonably priced and can be found for less than $150 at some outlets. The UH30010COM has made best vacuum cleaner lists on many websites over the years and continues to be a best-seller. It is popular with owners and gets great consumer reviews. It also comes with its own portable canister. The Miele Cat & Dog isn’t cheap (about $650) but it is an attractive machine with a nice fit and finish and is also our choice for best pet hair vacuum. It is quiet and powerful with a 2 fan motor that carries a 7-year warranty.

The only stick vacuum that made the cut is the Miele Quickstep S194. The Quickstep recently replaced the more expensive Miele S163 and S168 stick vacuums. It is now more popular with owners than either of those predecessors. The Quickstep is a corded and bagged stick vacuum that also doubles as a handheld. It features suction power controls and a 26-foot power cord.
