Rarotonga, Cook Islands, September 13, 2012 --(PR.com
)-- Pacific Resort Hotel Group (PRHG) in the Cook Islands heads into the second half of 2012 boasting numerous new international travel award accolades that clearly consolidate its position as the best in its class across the South Pacific and along the way putting the Cook Islands on the map in terms of excellence in quality, service, hospitality and guest experience.
In the heart of the Polynesian triangle between Hawaii, Fiji and Tahiti you will discover one of the worlds best kept secrets – the Cook Islands. Pacific Resort Hotel Group (PRHG) operate resorts on the islands of Rarotonga and Aitutaki - 2 of the 15 islands that make up the Cook Islands, a spectacular remote island setting not known to many. However, with all the PRHG honours piling up over the years, more and more travellers are learning about this ultimate getaway location hidden deep in the South Pacific.
Below is the most recent recognition garnered by PRHG – and its people, pristine beaches, luxury accommodations and variety of offerings:
HM Awards for Hotel & Accommodation Excellence - General Manager of Pacific Resort Aitutaki, Julian Moore, has been named the “South Pacific General Manager of the Year” at the 2012 HM Awards. Each year, these awards recognise hotel and accommodation excellence and quality over a range of categories from people and departments to properties and chains across Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific.
Holding off a first class field of his peers to take home this major award in back to back years (Julian won the award in 2011), Julian acknowledged the entire team at the resort and corporate support team at PRHG: “I am thrilled and humbled to join with others who have been recognised at this year’s HM Awards,” he said. “Although the recipient of an individual honour, I share it with the entire team at Pacific Resort Aitutaki and PRHG, whose support, hard work and dedication made it possible,” said Julian.
New Zealand Travel Industry Awards – Pacific Resort Aitutaki and Pacific Resort Rarotonga were both one of five finalists in the category “Best Hotel/Resort International” with PRHG finalist in the “Best Hotel/Resort Group Category.”
On the night Pacific Resort Aitutaki was awarded the runner-up award in the “Best Hotel/Resort International” category ahead of formidable challengers including Hilton Bora Bora Nui - Tahiti, Likuliku Lagoon Resort – Fiji and The Westin Hotel & Resort – Fiji to name a few.
The New Zealand Travel Industry Awards serve to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all sectors of the New Zealand and international travel industry – most importantly these awards are voted on by travel industry professionals. PRHG is grateful to the NZ industry for their loyal support & acknowledgement of Pacific Resort Aitutaki as a leading international resort. They take pride in their commitment to providing exceptional accommodation, service & hospitality in one of the world’s most beautiful destinations.
World Travel Awards – Pacific Resort Aitutaki is currently a finalist in the category “Australasia’s Leading Boutique Island Resort” along side the likes of Qualia – Hamilton Island, Turtle Island Resort – Fiji and Vomo Island Resort – Fiji. While Te Manava Luxury Villas & Spa is a finalist in the category for “Australasia’s Leading Villas” along side Eagles Nest – NZ and Four Seasons Bora Bora. Hailed as "The Oscars of the Travel Industry" by the Wall Street Journal, the World Travel Awards is recognised worldwide as the ultimate travel accolade.
Pacific Resort Aitutaki has been voted “World’s Leading Boutique Island Resort” over four consecutive years, while Te Manava Luxury Villas & Spa, Rarotonga has been voted “World’s Leading Island Villas” over two consecutive years. Both PRHG properties are hot favourites to win their respective Australasian categories this year and proceed as a finalist at the “World’s Leading” level.
