VIP Poker Room Announces First Members of Pro Ambassador Team
Montreal, Canada, January 17, 2013 --(PR.com)-- VIP Poker Room, the newest venue in the poker-booming Montreal area, has announced the first members of its Pro Ambassador Team. Team PokerStars Pro Eugene Katchalov who proudly owns a WSOP bracelet along with a WPT title, WPT Champion Will “The Thrill” Failla, inaugural November 9’er and WSOP gold bracelet owner Ylon Schwartz, and Mike “GoLeafsGoEh” Leah are the initial team members.

Eugene Katchalov has proven himself to be one of the greatest poker players in the world. In addition to his live accomplishments which include a WSOP bracelet and WPT title, Eugene also has a World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) title to his credit. A legend in his native Ukraine, Eugene was voted 2011 BLUFF Player of the Year.

Will Failla has been a force on the poker circuit for over a decade, accumulating 10 wins, 160+ cashes and over $3,500,000 earnings. His most high profile win was the 2011 WPT Legends of Poker Main Event for over $750,000. The only thing to compete with Will’s talent is his outgoing personality; he is beloved on tour and it’s never a secret when Will’s in the room – his quick wit and table talk never make for a dull moment on the felt.

Ylon Schwartz is an original November 9’er from the 2008 WSOP Main Event, where he finished 4th for just under $3,800,000. A revered online player under the name “Tenth Planet,” Ylon has also accumulated more than $2,000,000 in online earnings, to bring his total combined poker earnings to nearly $7,000,000. Ylon proved himself yet again at the 2012 WSOP, where he won his first gold bracelet in the $1500 H.O.R.S.E. event.

Canada’s Mike “GoLeafsGoEh” Leah is one of the best all around live and online poker players in the world. With over $3,000,000 in combined earnings, WCOOP and FTOPS championships, and being named WSOP Circuit Player of the Series in 2012 at Hammond, Indiana, Mike has shown his versatility and proven to be a match for anyone, any place, any game, any time. His prowess was most recently recognized when he was named a Team Ivey pro for Ivey Poker.

“We’re excited about signing these fantastic pros as ambassadors to VIP,” commented VIP owner Mitchell Horne. “Not only are they outstanding players, but incredible people who everyone loves to play poker with. That’s really the key for us. Our pros will enhance players’ experiences when they come play poker at VIP.”

VIP kicks things off on February 7th-11th with its Grand Opening Celebration, featuring a $550 entry 100k guaranteed tournament as well as a 5k entry VIP Players’ Championship event. Along with the cash, the winner of these events will also take home a custom bracelet and watch ($50,000 retail value), respectively, fashioned by Jacob the Jeweler. www.vippokerroom.ca
