The winner of the RCCI/Chicago designer search competition will be voted on by attendees and will receive an award as Best Designer Gown of RCCI/Chicago. Each designer entry will feature one model during the evening’s festivities. Entries will be accepted up until February 26, 2014.
RCCI founder Sandra Smith Doghmi and Chicago Managing Director Adel Shaw will bring the Oscar buzz to you. RCCI Chicago team will be in LA "Covering the Oscars in Hollywood" along with RCCI / Hollywood Director Gene Chang who also leads the way in reporting on various events including LA Fashion Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, La Jolla Fashion Film Festival, Cannes Film Festival and more.
Dion Greer, RCCI’s own in house agency director will be Chicago Chairman; RCCI’s Khadja Mua-Model is the Creative Director with a team of outstanding artists. Gloria Hafer (a.k.a.) “Gloria the Hat” RCCI Society Editor is the producer of this 86th Oscar event. Gloria has been presented with the Socialite of the Year Award and has received numerous awards for her outstanding contributions and achievements to the community. She is very well known for her lavish fun parties which are thrown once a month on Friday nights in various locations around Chicago. She started these parties with seven people and now there are over 500 on the guest list. Along with Gloria the Hat, are media hosts Harold Dennis and Michelle D. Ivy.
Harold Dennis, a renowned Chicago actor and member of the Gene Siskel Center's Black Harvest Film Festival Community Council, is always filming. Most recently his work can be seen in various independent films such as Bachelor’s Grove, Four Seasons, Day 1, True Grace, among others. In January 2014, Dennis appeared on the Steve Harvey Show, and in 2013 was also selected as one of RollingOut Magazine's Chicago's 50 Most Wanted Men Of Substance And Style. Also in January 2013 Harold reprised his role as Jackie Robinson at the Dr. Martin Luther King Day Celebration held at the DuSable Museum. Mr. Dennis was cast as the title character in the feature film "Pieces Of A Dream" in October 2004. Michelle D. Ivy, actor/playwright/producer has a ton of entertainment experience including her own stage play "Shante's Reality Check", a production about domestic violence, to Print Modeling and Radio Host. Aside from performing in numerous films and on stage, one of Ivy’s biggest accomplishments is her first film produced solely by Michelle D. Ivy titled "Not Myself" which Michelle herself starred in alongside a few other dynamic Chicago actors. Most recently you can see her featured work in "The Test" and "Ironic" produced by Michelle D.
