Apache Junction, AZ, April 01, 2014 --(PR.com
)-- DataRecovery.com, a world leader in hard drive data recovery services, announced a $1,000 donation to Desert Vista Elementary School for new playground equipment.
The Desert Vista Elementary Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is attempting to raise about $30,000 to replace the current equipment, which has not been replaced since the school opened in 1989.
"The current equipment is almost 25 years old, and it's starting to wear out," said Judy Williamson, President of the PTO. "We still have a ways to go, so we're encouraging donations from the community to get this project off of the ground."
The new playground will provide a safer environment for Desert Vista's students. The PTO hopes to complete the project within 1 year (by April 2015) to celebrate the school's 25th anniversary, and the organization will combine DataRecovery.com's donation with various fundraising efforts in order to repair or replace the equipment.
Ben Carmitchel, President of DataRecovery.com, says that the company is committed to assisting worthy causes, and donating to the area schools made sense given DataRecovery.com's established presence in the East Valley.
"Since we opened our Phoenix office, we've stayed involved with the community," said Carmitchel. "Education is particularly important to our business, and we're certainly proud of the staff, students, and volunteers in our neighborhood. We hope that this donation helps the Desert Vista Elementary PTO meet their goals."
The Desert Vista Elementary School PTO is committed to providing students with the latest educational tools and technologies. Businesses and individuals can get involved with the playground project by visiting the PTO's website at desertvistapto.com.
