Team BTO Sports-KTM-WPS Start the 2014 Outdoor Season Strong
Thousand Oaks, CA, July 02, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The BTO Sports-KTM-WPS race team has started the 2014 AMA Pro Motocross Championship season off in the right direction. The team is looking to push forward in the most competitive field in history. After 4 rounds with the strong support from the team’s sponsors, riders Andrew Short and Matt Goerke continue to dial in their race bikes week in and week out. The progression is showing through their results as they’ve begun to put their bikes in contention with the best riders on the circuit.

Andrew Short came in to 2014 Outdoor Championship with confidence after a he finished a solid 6th in points during the Supercross series. Race ready, Shorty was set to mix it up during the series opener at Glen Helen. While a few issues kept him from starting the season with a top ten finish, Short would pick it up during round 2 at Hangtown MX where he would battle back to an 11th place finish. Continuing his charge to the front during round 3 at Thunder Valley, Short stayed consistent in front of his home crowd, and raced inside the top ten for 8th overall. He would then use that momentum to his advantage in round 4 at High Point, where he rode up front in both motos to claim 7th overall. After 4 rounds Short holds down 10th in championship points.

“I’m feeling good and riding strong,” Andrew Short said of his season. “Things continue to progress forward and I am feeling confident about the rest of the season.”

Matt Goerke returned to racing at round 3 during the Thunder Valley MX National after recovering from an injury sustained in Supercross. “Beef” as they call him, didn’t waste any time getting back into the swing of things. Matt showed immediate speed his first race back, finishing 15th overall. He would continue to better his results at round 4, where he scored an overall of 11th. Matt was not able to previously test for outdoors while being out, however he seemed to be back to his old ways early on, and the team couldn’t be more excited.

Blountville, TN marked the 5th round of the AMA Pro Motocross Championship this past weekend, where the BTO-KTM-WPS race team was able to see both riders finish inside the top ten in moto 1 (Short finished 6th, Goerke finished 7th). Unfortunately moto 2 complications would cause Goerke to pull off, leaving teammate Short solo where he would manage to finish 8th.

Overall, the team leaves TN on a good note. Short sits in the top 10 overall points and Goerke is already 16th after completing only a handful of races. This week the team prepares for the infamous RedBud National over 4th of July weekend.
