Mini Marathon & 5K Training Program Offered by the National Institute for Fitness and Sport (NIFS) —25 Years and Running
Indianapolis, IN, October 24, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Training for a race event is better with a group. Join NIFS Mini Marathon & 5K Training Program and cross the finish line this spring. Training is at NIFS convenient downtown location Wednesday nights, January 21-May 6, at 6 pm. Registration is now open.

Now in it’s 25th year, the NIFS Mini Marathon & 5K Training Program prepares participants for both the OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini Marathon scheduled for Saturday, May 2, the Geist Half Marathon on May 16 and the Carmel Marathon on April 18. These races also have 5K courses for those wanting to compete at a shorter distance.

Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced level runner or walker, the NIFS Mini Marathon & 5K Training Program offers a safe and fun way to prepare your body for any race event. This interactive training program is developed by exercise physiologists, fitness specialists, registered dietitians and accomplished athletes.

Past participant Denise, said this about her training experience, “I look forward to participating every year. The training program is even more fun than the actual race!”

The 14-week program includes an educational training clinic on January 21, weekly group walks/runs, a program shirt, weekly access to NIFS for cross training, weekly snacks and refreshments and a celebration dinner.
