The Society of Foreign Consuls in New York Hosts Annual Award Ceremony on March 6, 2015 in New York City

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, 20 women from different countries will be recognized by The Society of Foreign Consuls in New York City. This year the annual event is hosted by Consulate General of Slovakia in New York.

New York, NY, March 04, 2015 --(PR.com)-- The Annual Award Ceremony by The Society Of Foreign Consuls in New York will take place on March 6th, 2015 in Banquet Hall, Grand Masonic Lodge at 71 W 23rd Street in New York, NY. On the occasion of International Women’s Day, 20 women from all over the world will be awarded with a Certificate of Recognition for their outstanding achievements and contribution to community empowerment in the USA.

I must also congratulate the 20 women being recognized, today, for their amazing and outstanding achievements. Their contributions to the development of the USA and the honor that is brought to their countries of origin is immense," said Amb. Habib Habu, Consul General of Nigeria.

Consulate General of Slovakia in New York is the host country this year. “It is a great pleasure and honor to host the event. These strong women are wonderful role models. Their outstanding professional achievements contribute significantly to America’s society.They give back to their own communities with their leadership, mentoring, charity work and by professionally linking their countries with the USA,” said Hon. Jana Trnovcova, Consul General of Slovakia.

Initiated in 2011 by Consul General of the Republic of Kazakhstan Raushan Yesbulatova, the reception in celebration of Women’s Day was so successful that it was established as an annual celebration. Since than every year the Consulate General of the Republic of Kazakhstan graciously carries the flag of organizers. Participating countries this year will include Barbados, China, Croatia, Cyprus, Estonia, Georgia, Germany, Indonesia, Italy, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Philippines, Qatar, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, South Africa, Trinidad and Tobago, Turkey, Uruguay. All participating countries contribute to the reception with their national specialities.

The event is collaborated with EPN – Entrepreneurs and Professionals Network, whose co- founder Magdaline Delany is also this year’s emcee for the ceremony. Magdaline in addition founded Women EPN, providing women a special forum to empower others and be empowered.
