Leesburg, VA, April 20, 2015 --(PR.com)-- The Coalition to Salute America’s Heroes (Coalition), a leading not-for-profit organization dedicated to rebuilding the lives of severely wounded veterans of the War on Terror, announced today that it has elected Chief Master Sgt. Stephen Page (U.S. Air Force – Ret.) to its Board of Directors.

Chief Page, who served as command chief for the 12th Flying Training Wing at Randolph Air Force Base, has received several honors during his career, including the Air Force Times Airman of the Year in 2008.

“Throughout his distinguished career, Chief Page has shown his compassion for wounded veterans and has gone out of his way, despite the many demands on his schedule, to guide, mentor and care for combat-wounded troops and their families,” said Lt. Col. Thomas J. Orlowski, chairman of the Coalition. “His service to our country, and to our true American heroes, will make him an invaluable member of our Board of Directors, because he knows exactly what needs to be done to most effectively support these proud men and women.”

As the Command Chief Master Sergeant of the 12th Flying Training Wing at Randolph AFB in Texas, Chief Page advised the 12 FTW commander on the health, welfare, morale, mission effectiveness and proper utilization of the 4,028 enlisted personnel and civilian workers assigned to four groups, 26 squadrons, wing staff agencies, DRUs and FOAs. The 12 FTW trains Air Force pilots to be flight instructors at Air Education and Training Command’s four undergraduate pilot training bases and conducts Department of Defense Combat Systems Officer training for the Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps and over 20 allied nations.

Following his retirement in 2008, Chief Page was hand-selected by AF/A1 and AF/A1S to standup the first-ever Air Force Recovery Care Coordination Program for Wounded, Ill and Injured Airmen and their families. The RCC program provides a comprehensive non-medical case management system to ensure Airmen and their families can return to their “new normal” as part of their recovery and rehabilitation process. He also served as the Director of Corporate Sponsorships for Operation Finally Home, a not-for-profit organization that builds new, mortgage-free homes for combat-wounded veterans.

“I'm so honored to be elected as a board member for such a prestigious organization,” said Page. “It blesses me beyond words to know that I can still serve, in a small way, those families who have donned the cloth of a warrior and carried the colors of our nation down range to preserve the freedoms and democracies that we hold so dear. I'm just honored.”

Chief Page currently serves as a Program Manager for the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau in Washington, D.C., providing financial coaching services to veterans and economically vulnerable communities at 60 locations across the United States.
