Food Allergies, Asthma and--Interior Design?

Interior designers and architects join top industry professionals to foster awareness among prevalent topics within the built environment, to include: Indoor Air Quality: Asthma and Allergies, Sustainability, Food Safety in Design: Food-borne Illness Prevention and Food Allergy Awareness, Holistic Design and more.

Columbia, MD, May 07, 2016 --( On Wednesday, May 11, 2016, the Maryland Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) will host their inaugural Bold Leaders in Design Summit and Expo at Gramophone, 8880 McGaw Road, Columbia, Maryland, from 8:00am-5:00pm. An innovative program designed to bring together multiple sectors of the design community to raise awareness, foster collaboration and take action to design safer, healthier buildings. Presentation topics include: Indoor Air Quality- Asthma and Allergies; Sustainability; Food Safety in Design- Food-borne Illness Prevention and Food Allergy Awareness; Holistic Design and more.

Explains Lauryn Murphy, President-elect of the Maryland Chapter of ASID, “When designing a space - food allergies, asthma, security - all represent relevant issues where knowledge of such can significantly influence a healthier, safer final outcome.”

Tickets may be purchased online: Full day summit participation qualifies for 0.5 CEUs/ 5 AIA HSW LUs. All those interested in attending are strongly encouraged to do so- regardless of professional level or affiliation. This all-inclusive program will be equally relevant across residential, commercial, healthcare, hospitality and GSA sectors of the design world.

Facilitating the Q&A panel is Lauryn Murphy joined by Lisa Fitzpatrick, President of the Washington Metro Chapter of ASID.
