About Maryanne Courtney
Ms. Courtney is retired after serving 33 years as a Teacher for the Wood County Board of Education in Parkersburg, West Virginia. For 17 of those years, she taught special education classes to students from preschool to high school grade levels with learning disabilities, behavioral disorders and mental impairments at several schools in the district. For the last 16 years, she taught third grade at McKinley Elementary School and Mineral Wells Elementary School.
Born on January 12, 1960 in Ohio, Ms. Courtney obtained a B.S.Ed. in Special Education from Ohio University in 1982 and a M.A.Ed. in Learning Disability in 1986 from West Virginia University. She obtained her regular teaching certification from Ohio Valley College in 1999. In her spare time she enjoys working on her computer.
