)-- Celestine Publishing announced the release of a 720 page softbound version of its new, principle-centered Topical Guide for Latter-day Saints; entitled Principles with Promise: for Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Principles with Promise catalogues the doctrines, values, and teachings of the gospel and their associated references as practiced by Latter-day Saints. This volume organizes each principle by key words, cross-references by similar subjects, and is arranged similar to their current Topical Guide, but at the same time unique in its content and purpose.
Principles with Promise introduces an alternative technique for studying the scriptures. Though not an entirely new approach, it expands upon previous attempts by laying out the information in a fashion which provides the researcher with easier access to the principles by key words. “Those who are familiar with this publication have given me very positive reviews and encouragement that Principles with Promise fits a real need in accessing the principles for teaching assignments and talk preparation,” commented its author, Vincent DiGirolamo.
Reviews have been very favorable from Latter-day Saint friends and associates, and while a church leader called to complement him on the achievement and related that he would definitely use it, DiGirolamo said the most important feedback he received was from his son serving a mission in Portland, Oregon.
“My son Morgan said he needed to locate a scripture he had on his mind but could not find it. He searched his scriptures, the LDS Topical Guide and Bible Dictionary, and other authorized missionary publications, but to no avail. Then the thought occurred to him to check his copy of Principles with Promise which I had recently sent to him and he found the desired principle immediately.”
Principles with Promise represents more than 25 years of cataloging principles in an organized way, and many, if not most, Latter-day Saint talks and publications recommend or emphasize the practice of true and correct principles.
“I have always had a personal desire to know why things are the way they are, and believed that the answers could be found for all of life’s verities in the scriptures; both spiritual and temporal. My thesis became clearer to me while compiling both Principles with Promise and On Common Ground: Bridging the Mormon-Evangelical Divide; simply stated - Live true principles and receive the promised blessings.
What’s left for us to do is to determine for ourselves what is true, and then to live those principles for a better life. My hope for you, the researcher, is that these books provide you with an organized way to further that wonderful experience as they have for me.” concluded DiGirolamo.
