)-- Today Georgetown Home Care (GHC) announced a partnership with Uber Health, which equips organizations to order HIPAA compliant rides and better serve the senior community.
Georgetown Home Care has been using the platform for some time during the beta program, receiving positive feedback from clients. Uber Health is and innovative tool that not only provides a bonus service for their clients but also greater employment opportunities for those who cannot drive.
“We were thrilled to be a part of the beta program for Uber Health as we recognized the advantage it provides,” said John Bradshaw CEO of Georgetown Home Care, “and we found it to be a great tool in helping us provide convenient and safe transportation for our clients and employees.”
Lack of transportation can be detrimental to a senior citizens ability to age in place and often causes them to reluctantly move to an assisted living facility. With the recent changes in how healthcare is approached, it is critical that people are keeping up with regular physician checkups and follow up visits, especially seniors. “While transportation barriers are common across the general population,” said Chris Weber of Uber, “these barriers are greatest for vulnerable populations.” Georgetown Home Care has always included transportation in its service offering however, the Uber Health platform has given GHC more flexibility and success in serving seniors in the greater Washington DC area.Georgetown Home Care
