)-- Los Angeles-based OKTV is announcing the launch of their brand new television network, OKTV (an acronym for “Opportunity Knocks Television”), a variety network aimed at being a premiere provider of content.
OKTV offers television with a uniquely distinctive, positive, and conducive approach to entertainment for viewers between the ages of 18 to 65. The programme lineup for OKTV is a familiar mix of reality TV shows, cookery shows, sports, music shows, self-help programmes and talkshows. Based on a set of creative and positive values, the network opens the door for original programming intended to impact lives through philanthropic endeavors and social consciousness.
The network is founded by producer-director Xavier “X” Mitchell, who brings over 20 years of entertainment industry experience to the table. Mitchell has produced and directed projects such as Laugh at LA, Fathers of the Sport, Next Up and much more. His respect and knowledge of the industry makes him an asset to the company
Mitchell says, “The enthusiasm and energy surrounding this venture is at an all-time high. Each week, OKTV will air programs aimed at evoking various emotions and responses from its audiences. It will feature original programming such as Going Beyond Story, Opportunity Knocks, Reality Check, and Laugh at LA. Their flagship show entitled Opportunity Knocks seeks out worthy candidates who’ve abandoned their dreams for the sake of others and matches them with those willing to provide them the opportunity of a lifetime. The show is expected to have a variety of topics that are exciting, compelling and heart-warming.
The producers of the show are encouraging viewers to send in letters or a short three-minute video describing a situation faced by someone you care about, described as “Opportunees” or people who need help of one kind or another. Submissions are then screened and considered deeply. Those selected are matched with appropriate “Opportunors,” in the form of a person, business, or organization that matches each unique situation.
OKTV is launched under the ILaunch umbrella and is available in 60 countries. Viewers can find OKTV on DIRECTV, Rabbit TV Plus, Roku, Amazon Firestick, Smart TVs, Sling TV, and the TV To Go app.
OKTV will officially launch on June 6th, 2018 with its flagship original program Opportunity Knocks.
