ALA Executive Director Among Chicago’s Notable LGBTQ Executives

Chicago, IL, September 11, 2018 --(PR.com)-- In its first-ever list of the kind, Crain’s Chicago Business identified 88 LGBTQ leaders from a wide range of sectors: finance, tech, nonprofits, media, the arts and more. The Association of Legal Administrators’ Executive Director, Oliver Yandle, JD, CAE, was one of the individuals recognized on this list. Each of these leaders demonstrated that they are advancing their industries, workplace equality and civic engagement.

According to Crain’s, “This is our first Editorial feature to spotlight the diversity of Chicago’s executive ranks through this specific lens. We believe it will be an important addition to Chicago’s diversity conversation within the larger business community.”

Yandle is the Executive Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Association of Legal Administrators - a nearly 8,000-member professional legal management association. He’s been in this position for nearly seven years. He manages a staff of more than 30 employees, providing direct leadership to the professional staff and member Board of Directors in following the ALA strategic plan and annual goals. ALA has received the Best Place to Work Award several times as a result of forward-thinking practices implemented during Yandle’s tenure.

“I am flattered and humbled being included with this distinguished group of leaders,” says Yandle. “I am fortunate to be supported by wonderful staff, volunteer leaders and friends who share a commitment to diversity and inclusion in all aspects of our lives.”

He graduated magna cum laude from both Loyola University New Orleans and the Washington College of Law at American University. He directed policy for PB Farradyne and the Intelligent Transportation Society of America in Washington, D.C. In 2002, he became executive director of the International Association of Defense Counsel, an association of civil litigation defense attorneys in Chicago. Yandle has since held top executive positions with the National Association of Independent Fee Appraisers, Building Service Contractors Association International, and Commercial Law League of America.

He also pays it forward by donating his time to the Human Rights Campaign, GLAAD and Equality Illinois.
