)-- Daytona Beach Mayor Glenn Richey has designated April 19 as Boomer Diva Nation Day. This is in conjunction with the First Annual Baby Boomer Girlfriends Spring Break which will be held there April 18-20.
An official Proclamation will be issued, during the Girlfriends luncheon, declaring the day as one that “represents baby boomer women around the globe, who are smart, talented and business savvy, making a difference along the way.”
The event host, Beverly Mahone of BAM Enterprises, says, "It is, indeed, an honor to receive recognition from the city of Daytona Beach. We appreciate the fact that the city is welcoming us with open arms. BAM Enterprises is the primary sponsor of the Spring Break."
Women from California, Texas, Tennessee, Ohio, New Mexico, Maryland and North Carolina will join Florida women as they gather at the Hilton Oceanfront Resort for the three-day-affair. Mahone says the weekend will be filled with lots of activities including pamper me mini-spas, Diva pageant, a Zumba fitness workout and a celebrity luncheon with actress Bern Nadette Stanis, who played Thelma on the TV sitcom, Good Times. There will also be a Boomer Marketplace with more than a dozen woman-owned, home-based businesses, makeover workshops, an evening award dinner featuring a diva pageant and the evening caps off with an over 40 pajama party.
