West Linn, OR, April 16, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Today, (five-0-three) restaurant & bar, West Linn, Oregon's locally sourced, globally inspired fine-dining eatery, announced a Southern-style luncheon and Kentucky Derby viewing party from 12 p.m. – 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 3. Tickets are $40 per-person, with 50% going to benefit West Linn High School – as will 100% of proceeds of a blind “bet” on horses in the race. For $10 per random draw, attendees have the chance to win prizes from a variety of local merchants. Live bluegrass music will round out the occasion, hosted at the restaurant‘s location in the new West Linn Central Village Center (21900 Willamette Dr.).

On Monday, April 28 at 6:30 p.m. (five-0-three) will also host the latest in its Winemaker’s Dinner Series, featuring Walla-Walla winery Ash Hollow (www.ashhollow.com). A five-course feast will complement wines described as “traditional, with a new world attitude.” Meals in the series (which have previously featured Willamette Valley wineries Dominio IV and Roots) are served in the “family style” setting (familiar to regional diners due to events such as the popular “Ripe” dinners) and allow for casual conversation and Q & A with the vintner.

“Family style dining gets to the heart of what enjoying food is all about, and that is people sharing a common experience,” said (five-0-three) Executive Chef Johnny Nunn. “We make community the focus of our daily dining experience, as well as our special events.”

This philosophy is further reflected in the restaurant’s open kitchen, inviting chef's counter, 10-person private dining room, custom art and full bar. A large patio is also open for al fresco dining and drinks April through October, with live music on Friday evenings beginning Mid-May.

The restaurant will also hold a special four-course Mother’s Day Brunch with live jazz on Sunday, May 11. Seating is open from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.; the price is $35 per person for adults and $12 for kids. A subsequent Winemaker’s Sake Dinner on Monday, May 19, will feature selections from a mélange of regional sake distilleries that highlight the ease of pairing of premium sakes with fine cuisine. The event is co-hosted by sommelier Marcus Pakiser, Oregon Sake Manager at Young’s Columbia, and local cheese steward and sake specialist Sallie Caranahan-Wall.

(five-0-three) spotlights innovative, yet simple dishes and a menu that evolves with the availability of regionally-sourced, sustainable ingredients. This makes (five-0-three) a must-try destination for “foodies” in the region and fills what restaurant owners John and Amy McEwan identified as a lack of fine dining options in the West Linn area. The restaurant opened its doors in August 2007.
