Childress Ink and Ink-a-Dink Bookstore Join Give Like Dolly Day to Put More Books in the Hands of West Michigan Childress
As part of the Give Like Dolly Day celebration taking place nationwide on Friday, September 25, Ink-a-Dink Bookstore is sponsoring an online fundraiser in support of Dolly Parton's Imagination Library of West Michigan, helping provide free, age-appropriate books to children from birth through age five.
Grand Rapids, MI, September 23, 2026 --(PR.com)-- Childress Ink and Ink-a-Dink Bookstore are proud to join businesses and community partners across West Michigan in celebrating Give Like Dolly Day on Friday, September 25, a special day of giving inspired by Dolly Parton’s legacy of generosity, literacy, and love of books.
All donations made through the Childress Ink and Ink-a-Dink Give Like Dolly Day fundraiser will go directly to Early Bird Books in support of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of West Michigan, helping provide free, age-appropriate books to children from birth through age five.
Early Bird Books operates the local Imagination Library program, which provides enrolled children with a new book mailed directly to their homes every month at no cost to their families.
Donations help provide books, expand access into additional communities, and sustain the growing West Michigan program.
For Childress Ink founder and Ink-a-Dink Bookstore owner Kim Childress, the September fundraiser continues a relationship that began after connecting with Early Bird Books at a local pop-up event.
Since then, Childress Ink and Ink-a-Dink have been honored to support the organization through book donations, connections with publishers and other businesses, and involvement with the Fairy Tale Children’s Ball.
“Books can open an entire world to a child, and getting those books into children’s homes is at the heart of everything we do,” said Childress. “I’ve been grateful to see firsthand the work Early Bird Books is doing for families in West Michigan. Give Like Dolly Day gives all of us an opportunity to be part of that work and to celebrate Dolly Parton’s extraordinary belief in the power of reading.”
Give Like Dolly Day takes place on 9/25, a playful nod to Parton’s famous “9 to 5,” and invites businesses and community partners to turn the date into a day centered on giving, reading, and community.
How to Participate:
Community members can join Childress Ink and Ink-a-Dink Bookstore in celebrating Give Like Dolly Day on Friday, September 25, 2026, by making a donation online at Ink-a-Dink.com, now through midnight September 25.
We are asking for donations of $5.00-$36.00. According to Early Bird Books, $36 funds one child's books for a full year. All donors will receive thank-you gifts from Ink-a-Dink Bookstore:
$5 donation — Two premium vinyl stickers, a $9.50 value
$10 donation — Three premium vinyl stickers, a $14.25 value
$20 donation — One free book and one premium vinyl sticker
$36 donation — One free book and three premium vinyl stickers
100% of donations collected through the Give Like Dolly Day fundraiser at Ink-a-Dink.com will benefit Early Bird Books and Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of West Michigan.
Supporters can visit Ink-a-Dink.com now through September 25 to choose a donation level and help put more books into the hands of West Michigan children.
