Charleston Developer Launches BattleMaps, a Free Game Where Any Barcode Becomes a Fighter

Charleston, SC, October 20, 2026 --(PR.com)-- ThinkNew Games' BattleMaps, a free location-based fighting game, is out now on Android, where it launched on October 7, 2026. Players scan any product barcode or QR code to discover a fighter with its own AI-painted portrait, raise and train it, then take it onto a real-world map to claim restaurants, parks and landmarks and defend them against other players.

Every barcode always produces the same fighter, so a can of soda in Charleston prints the same fighter as one in Chicago. Fighters grow from small recruits, train in four gym games and fight in turn-based battles with timed combos, charged specials and parries.

Players who join during Founders' Season, running through January 31, 2027, compete in weekly contests, a monthly championship and faction leaderboards for championship belts.

Key features:
- Scan anything: every barcode prints a unique, repeatable fighter
- Claim real places and link them into territories
- Asynchronous turn-based PvP with live battles when both players are online
- Daily Hero of the Day video highlighting the top fighter
- Free to download and free to discover

BattleMaps is out now on Android (since October 7, 2026), with iPhone coming soon: https://battlemaps.thinknewgames.com/get?src=prcom. iPhone players can sign up to hear the moment it's out at battlemapsgame.com/get. BattleMaps' fighter portraits are AI-painted, and the in-game guide, Ali, is voiced with an AI-generated voice.
