Company History

Development on Rezgo began in June of 2005. At the time the company behind Rezgo, Sentias Software Corp, was working with travel agents across Canada to integrate third party booking engines, including the popular Softvoyage Sirev Booking Engine, and to develop tools to make it easy for travel agents to manage their in-house specials or electronic flatsheets.

Sentias had developed several precursor products to Rezgo including several add-on modules to the popular Sentias CMS platform. These modules included:

The In-house Specials module, which was designed to allow travel agents to post their specials on their website.
The Request Module, which allowed customers to fill out a customized request form for each special that was subsequently stored in the database.
The Specials Booking Module which allowed a customer to actually book a special and pay with their credit card.

When we were approached by a river rafting & canyoning operator that wanted to use the Sentias CMS but had a small budget, we realized that there might be other small businesses that might benefit from an on-line booking solution. We began development of “The Booking Server” in earnest.

June 2005 – Development of the Booking Server Begins

January 2006 – Direct Marketing Campaign to promote Booking Server. Market research gathered during this campaign drives corporate decision to use social media and strategic partnerships to drive supplier acceptance.

June 2006 – Beta Version of the Booking Server Launches. System includes support for packages, accommodations, and tours/activities.

June 2007 – Booking Server is re-branded Rezgo. Packages and accommodations are dropped in favour of tours/activities. Tiered pricing model is launched.

June 2008 – New version of booking front-end is released. Tiered pricing model is replaced with simpler Free & Premium model.

November 2008 – Release of RezgoConnect and Vendor/Reseller distribution platform at PhoCusWright Innovation Summit in Los Angeles.

June 2009 – Free & Premium pricing model is replaced with transaction fee model. Average 400% increase in transaction volumes for Q1 & Q2.

August 2009 – Rezgo donates complete set of XML messages to OpenTravel Alliance.

December 2009 – Transaction volumes continue to exceed expectations. Key partnerships with EmQuest, CTM Media Group, and others secured.

Everyone who has worked on the Rezgo system has left their mark and had a direct impact on the success of the system. Since the initial Beta release of Rezgo almost all of the features added have been directly influenced by members. We are thankful to all the members who continue to trust their businesses to Rezgo and we pledge to continue innovating and improving Rezgo for the benefit of all the businesses who use it.
