Rabbit Healthcare Systems to Demonstrate Rabbit EHR at the 2009 ASCO EHR Symposium: Harnessing the EHR: from Incentives to Sustainability

Rabbit Healthcare Systems is one of eight electronic health record (EHR) vendors elected to participate in a highlighted vendor demonstration event at the American Society of Clinical Oncology’s (ASCO) 2009 EHR Symposium: Harnessing the EHR: From Incentives to Sustainability, October 6-7 in San Francisco, CA.

Austin, TX, September 26, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Rabbit Healthcare Systems is one of eight electronic health record (EHR) vendors elected to participate in a highlighted vendor demonstration event at the American Society of Clinical Oncology’s (ASCO) 2009 EHR Symposium: Harnessing the EHR: From Incentives to Sustainability, October 6-7 in San Francisco, CA.

The eight vendors were selected because of their participation in ASCO’s EHR Lab at the 2009 Annual Meeting. The highlighted vendor demonstration event set to occur on day two of the symposium will display the capabilities of each EHR by simulating an actual patient encounter. Patient demographics and histories will be provided prior to the demonstrations, but details of the patient’s visit will be demonstrated live and include a question and answer session at the conclusion of each segment.

In addition to the vendor demonstrations, symposium attendees, which include oncologists, administrators, nurses, researchers and other members of the health care community, will have an opportunity to participate in educational sessions addressing ARRA’s impact on oncology, EHRs as a quality tool, implementation project management, policy and procedures, ongoing budgeting for an EHR, and the return on investment an EHR can offer an oncology practice. To learn more about the symposium and to view the final agenda, visit www.asco.org/ehrsymposium.

“The use of EHRs in oncology has the ability to revolutionize the way that doctors treat patients with cancer,” said Brad Vassberg, president. “ASCO has identified EHRs as an important vehicle for advancing quality care and recognizes that the software’s success depends on whether they meet the needs of the practices that will be using them on a daily basis. We are thrilled by the opportunity to participate in ASCO’s 2009 EHR Symposium and demonstrate first-hand what our system offers to the oncology community."
