West Hollywood, CA, January 18, 2010 --(PR.com
)-- Key Club, West Hollywood’s premiere historic live music venue, has announced today that they have reopened under new ownership and set out to bring the "old school" vibe back to the Sunset Strip by revitalizing the venue and bringing in amazing live performances and events for the 2010 season.
The new ownership is headed by Ian Shepp, who most recently was the principal owner at Madame Royale in Hollywood, as well as the Director of Events and Revenue at the Sunset Entertainment Group. Prior to that, Shepp was involved in operating a handful of well-known venues such as H.Wood and The Viper Room, as well as an Event Producer for Bolthouse Productions.
The venue has been a staple of the Los Angeles nightlife and music scene for decades. Formerly Gazzarri's, the legendary nightspot launched the careers of bands like Van Halen and The Doors. Key Club is already undergoing renovations and is expected to be completely overhauled by late Summer of 2010. The venue, known for building legends, will feature the best in old school rock & roll and todays top new artists.
“We want to bring the Sunset Strip back to what it was known for, a community of music and live entertainment,” said Shepp.
The new Key Club’s slate of upcoming events includes:
Thurs, January 21 - Matt Sorum Presents the Darling Stilettos Rock N Roll A-Go
Tues, January 26 – Brand New Machine “Official Launch Party” feat Amerie Live
Thurs, January 28 – Mos Def Live in Concert
Fri, January 29 – Official Grand Opening hosted by LL Cool J live on boomdizzle.com
Sat, January 30 - The 6th Annual Roots Jam Session (produced by Keldof & Tina Farris Tours) – invite-only
Sunday, January 31 – A Grammy Party with Digable Planets live in concert
To help with the transition, Key Club has brought on the new management team, Issimo Inc., also known as Issimo Live Music. Issimo will be responsible for the club’s re-branding, marketing and talent relations. Simone Sestito, alongside the Key Club's Director of Marketing, Steven Harlow, are determined to revitalize the Sunset Strip to its "old school" ways by incorporating their vast talent relationships, new media and digital marketing. The Key Club's new website (www.keyclub.com) is being re-designed into a custom social media platform that will be able to distribute live and pre-recorded content. They are also developing a revolutionary Key Club iPhone application.
“You never know who will pop in and bless our stage on any given night,” says Sestito. “The Sunset Strip is back!”
