Invengo Announces New RFID Tags, with Impinj Monza 4 Chip, and Also the Release of a UHF Gen 2 Hand Held Reader
Herndon, VA, April 05, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The products are set to be showcased at the RFID Journal Live Show, which takes place April 14-16 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando FL.

Despite many proven advantages, retail operations have been slow to adopt RFID. This has mainly been due to cost, performance, and privacy issues. The new Invengo inlays and tags overcome these barriers and will finally allow for RFID tags and labels to be applied in garment tracking applications.

The new RFID tags and inlays will bring added benefits such as ‘3D’ read orientation. Until now, fixing the tags to face in a certain direction has presented a logistical problem for many operations. With the release of ‘3D’ orientation that requirement goes away.

Privacy has always been a big concern, but that issue is now removed with password controls that allow for sale details to be hidden within the chip. However, when an item is returned the sale information can be un-hidden. This allows for tags to leave the store and provides for a customer electronic receipt, showing all purchase details when and where the item was sold, and how much was paid. This information helps the retail store to combat issues such as fraudulent returns, without needing to ask their customers to produce a paper receipt.

Higher sensitivity at -17dbm brings faster read rates over longer distance, and produces the option to use the tags in additional applications such as anti-theft Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS).

The Invengo inlays will be available in three new sizes.

50*30mm
30*15mm
23*12mm

Hang Tags, Woven, and Self Adhesive labels may be blank or full color print.

Based on the Monza 4 inlays, these tags and labels will be available in various types and sizes.

New UHF - Hand Held
In addition to the RFID inlays and tags, Invengo will release the XCRF-2900F6C UHF Gen2 Hand Held reader. This rugged RFID portable device comes with an 8 hr battery life, 1D or 2D barcode reader, Wi-Fi, GPRS, and Bluetooth.
