Mobile Keyboard Slimmer Than a Pencil for All In-Vehicle Applications

Mobile Keyboard Slimmer Than a Pencil for All In-Vehicle Applications
Austin, TX, November 18, 2011 --(PR.com)-- With an extremely shallow depth of less than half an inch, iKey Peripherals’ new SB-87-TP, from the SkinnyBoard™ line, is the thinnest mobile keyboard on the market. The new model is an ideal solution for public safety, industrial, material handling, and other in-vehicle applications where space is at a premium.

“Mobile computing components often occupy a large amount of space in a vehicle, which can restrict both driver and passenger movement and comfort,” Scott Driskill, Sales Manager. “By combining full functionality into a case thinner than a pencil, the SB-87-TP is perfect for any in-vehicle application.”

Like all of iKey’s rugged mobile keyboards, the SB-87-TP is engineered to withstand harsh treatment. Built in a fully sealed polycarbonate case with rubber keypad, it is engineered for NEMA 4X and IP68 protection, making it resistant to accidental spills, easy to clean, and impervious to corrosive cleaning products.

Designed as a complete data-input solution, the SB-87-TP also features an integrated touchpad and red LED backlit keys for nighttime or low-light use. The easy-to-install unit has a USB interface, and is completely plug-and-play with no additional drivers or software.

Ideal for use in any climate, it has an operating temperature of -40°F to 158°F, and a storage temperature of -40°F to 194°F.

From the top of the keycap to the bottom of the keyboard feet, the SB-87-TP measures 11.83” x 7.73” x 0.56” (w-h-d). Without feet, keys to case measures 0.48,” and it easily fits into available mounting solutions. The SB-87-TP is also available with optional magnetic mount.
