Cherry Hill Company Sends 20 Runners to Broad Street Run to Raise Money for Veterans Charity

Cherry Hill, NJ, April 28, 2012 --(PR.com)-- At one Cherry Hill company, the dress code these days calls for running shorts.

Employees at UTRS are so enthusiastic about raising money for a veterans charity that 20 of them will be running in this year’s Broad Street Run, on Sunday, May 6.

UTRS is an engineering and information-technology firm that specializes in providing services to the Department of Defense. Many employees are veterans and active-duty reservists.

The runners – as well as other employees – are raising money and awareness for The Mission Continues, a charity that helps veterans assimilate into civilian life. The organization awards fellowships for veterans to serve at local non-profits, addressing key educational, environmental or social issues. Employees at UTRS hope to raise $10,000, enough to pay for one fellowship.

The runners’ contingent was organized by Chief Operating Officer Marc Snyderman, a longtime runner who was inspired by the story of The Mission Continues founder Eric Greitens, a former Navy Seal commander. Two officials of the charity will be joining the UTRS contingent in the Broad Street Run.

The company recently held a fundraiser for the charity at P.J. Whelihan’s Pub in Cherry Hill.
