Oklahoma Queen Takes Throne at Palace Istanbul by Storm

While 007, cast and his crew are filming all around Istanbul today, preparations are underway for a royal evening.

Oklahoma City, OK, May 15, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Demetra George, a Grammy List Nominee and former Miss Oklahoma (Deborah Giannopoulos Mustafoglu) will hold court at Topkapi Palace's fundraising event May 24th in Istanbul, Turkey. George will step onto her throne in concert for Topkapi Palace decreeing a night of Andrew Lloyd Webber selections from Phantom, Cats and Evita. The Who's Who of Istanbul will hold court at the famed Hotel Les Ottomans on the Bosphorus for this unforgettable night. The event is black tie and by private invitation only. George draws critical acclaim and standing ovations wherever she travels. Recently it was in concert at Istanbul's Suleyman Demirel Culture Center, at the Karmi Music Foundation and at state birthday celebrations for N Cyprus.

Demetra, a talent and swimsuit winner in the joust of pageants, has sung with over 150 symphony orchestras, for 4 US presidents and many international dignitaries and with international opera stars. She has been the resident soprano for Nevada Opera Theatre in Las Vegas for the past 10 years singing leads in opera and concerts throughout the city. Prior to that she served as resident soprano to the Palm Beach Opera under Maestro Anton Guadagno for 9 years and has been seen and heard on major television and radio stations around the world.

Much needed funds will be donated for entrance restoration of the UNESCO World Heritage Site which was built in 1465 by Sultan Mehmet II and housed Ottman royalty for 400 years. Topkapi has been featured in many Hollywood movies including Istanbul, From Russia With Love, Topkapi, Hamam, The World is Not Enough, Girl on the Bridge, The Accidental Spy, The Net, The International, The Net 2, and The Taken.

The fall release of Skyfall starring Daniel Craig will showcase the beauty of Istanbul including shots of the famed Topkapi Palace. It is written that Topkapi houses many incredible Ottoman Empire artifacts, from ornate thrones and armor, to the treasury, library, a vast array of jewels and the most famed harem of the Sultan. The palace served as the "White House" of the Ottoman Turkish Empire whose borders extended from the outskirts of Vienna to Budapest in the north, all of the Balkans, most of the Mediterranean coast of Africa in the south and the whole of the Middle East in the east, at its zenith. Topkapi is the largest in square footage of all the royal palaces built in the world at over 7.5 million square feet and hosts more than 2.5 million guests a year.

Besides opera and Broadway, Demetra also sings the Turkish national anthem throughout the world including the US, Turkey and Cyprus for diplomatic events. She will appear in concert at the US Consulate in Istanbul in July in Broadway Abroad and is presenting A Passport to Opera in September at the Bellapais Abbey in N. Cyprus.
