)-- Christian Leadership Academy (CLA) in Troy, Michigan will be hosting an Open House on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at 7 pm. Visitors will have a chance to learn about the school, meet teachers and staff and visit classrooms.
Christian Leadership Academy is a K-12th grade, interdenominational, classical-curriculum school founded in 1994. The school is located in Troy in the center of Oakland County and minutes from many suburbs as well as Detroit. CLA’s average enrollment is 150 students. Christian Leadership Academy is a classical and Christian school dedicated to teaching students to know, reason, discern, and apply Truth using Scripture and the classical liberal arts, thereby assisting parents to fulfill their God-given responsibility of child training.
CLA employs the “Classical” approach to education, focusing on three stages of a child’s learning: Grammar, Logic, and Rhetoric. These three unique phases flow “with the grain” of the child as he/she develops and matures. In the Grammar stage, children are able to memorize large amounts of important facts. They learn the grammar of each subject using chants, songs, rhymes and repetition. Later, they move to the Logic stage in which they begin to question and reason through the nature of things. This cultivates the art of building a proper and logical argument. Finally, they begin to express themselves in the Rhetoric stage, which will equip them with the tools needed to persuasively write and speak with clarity and eloquence. The Grammar school consists of kindergarten through 6th grades; Upper School consists of Logic students (7th-9th grades) and Rhetoric students (10th-12th grades).
CLA graduates consistently score well above average on college testing, attend the colleges of their choice and enter the world with a solid Biblical worldview, understanding the sovereign work of God in all things.
The mission of Christian Leadership Academy is to teach children Biblical truths and classical academics from a Christian worldview so they may serve as bold and obedient ambassadors for Jesus Christ.
