New Novel Offers an Emotional Picture of a Generation Forced to Mature Under the Burden of a War That Has Redefined Their World
Big Bend, WI, May 07, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Indie Author, K. R. Schulteis, announces May 15, 2013 release date for her latest novel, Chasing Danny.

An entire generation has grown up in the shadows of 9/11. Their grandparents had Vietnam. Their great-grandparents had Korea, Pearl Harbor, and World War II. These young adults have the War on Terror. The word jihad has become common knowledge, and Afghanistan is easy to find on a map. Chasing Danny explores the often silent wounds of this war, both at the front and at home.

The coming-of-age tale follows seventeen-year-old Chase Peterson over the summer after his graduation. Chase longs for that fateful day in September when he can legally sign his own enlistment contract with the Marines, and follow in his older brother, Danny's footsteps. As he waits, he must contend with Danny's return from Afghanistan. Changed, bitter, and more distant, Danny is an enigma to Chase until he finds himself in the company of Olga Gutierrez.

Olga's brother, Erik, fought and died in Iraq. Everyone in the small town of Harwicke, Iowa knows that, and no one talks about it anymore. But the things we know aren’t always the truth and Olga’s secret may be the key to Chase finally understanding Danny and himself.

Chasing Danny will be available exclusively for the Kindle on Amazon and in paperback through most online retailers. The author is also giving away three autographed copies through the social networking site, Goodreads.
