East Felicina Middle School Will Take Part in an International Water Safety Class on Wednesday
Tampa, FL, May 14, 2013 --(PR.com)-- A Florida based non profit foundation named Safety Rock Foundation Corp, whose founder is a Louisiana native named Rocky Trahan will host this event. With the approval of East Feliciana Schools Superintendent Dr. Henderson Lewis Jr., Safety Rock Foundation in accordance with International Water Safety Day, will deliver 10 simple water safety rules to the students.

International Water Safety Day is designed to help spread global awareness of the ongoing drowning pandemic and educate the youth in becoming safe in and around the water. With over 30,000 reported deaths monthly, the lack of water safety education has propelled drowning to the third leading cause of accidental injury death worldwide.

International Water Safety Day, May 15, is endorsed by the NASBE, National Association of State Boards of Education. In additional to three schools in Louisiana, there are schools in seven other states and one international city in the Philippines being hosted by Safety Rock Foundation.

East Feliciana Middle School Principal Mrs. Keisha Netterville and Parent Liaison Mrs. Keashu King-Wright will teach the class to approximately 295 students, and each student participating will receive a certificate.

International Water Safety Day and Safety Rock Foundation believe water safety education should be a top priority in every school throughout the world.
