About Renee Y. Cooper
Ms. Cooper has over 13 years of teaching experience and over 30 years retail industry experience in various levels of management and product development. She is a Professor at the Fashion Institute of Technology. Professor Cooper teaches retail management, leadership and team development and fashion merchandising. Ms. Cooper has been awarded the Fulbright Scholarship by the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board. The Fulbright Program is the flagship international educational exchange program designed to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries. As a Fulbright Scholar, Ms. Cooper spent three months teaching and lecturing in Copenhagen Denmark at the Copenhagen School of Design & Technology (KEA.) Professor Cooper also is the recipient of the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Faculty Service from the State University of New York which is presented to a faculty member for consistently superior service over multiple years. Ms. Cooper is affiliated with the National Association of Professional Women. She is an officer and member of the Executive Board of the Black Retail Action Group (BRAG). She is a member of the National Retail Federation. She earned a Masters of Professional Studies degree in Global Fashion Management from the Fashion Institute of Technology in 2008. Additionally, Ms. Cooper enjoys mentoring and advising students, reading, technology trends and traveling with her family.
