O’Neill Consulting Group is honored to have supported Ready Pac Foods, Inc. in recruiting four new industry-leading C-level executives under the new leadership of Tony Sarsam, CEO who joined Ready Pac in October 2013 from Nestlé USA. Sally Erickson joined the company as Chief Financial Officer, Tim Clark as Chief Human Resources Officer, Peter Laport as Chief Supply Chain Officer, and Michael Murray as Chief General Counsel. The project kickoff was particularly important considering that O'Neill was retained for multiple senior leadership roles. The key was to build a powerhouse leadership team holistically – not merely directing four separate searches. As a result, intense focus was put on “getting smart” about the client, in order to find people whose experience and personalities would complement one another and reinforce the capabilities of existing team-members.

Valuable time was spent upfront researching relevant industries and competitive positioning, visiting Ready Pac facilities, and engaging face-to-face to foster an in-depth understanding of the business, culture, team, roles, and potential candidate profiles. The interview approach was tailored to fit the needs of the client by conducting two multi-role interview sessions. With everyone on site simultaneously, time was saved which gave decision makers a better feel for how different candidates fit together. As luck would have it, these sessions took place the weekend of a snow storm and Valentine’s Day, but that is another story – ask in person.
