Santa Fe, NM, July 09, 2014 --(PR.com
)-- Glenn Green of Glenn Galleries in Santa Fe, New Mexico, presented a sculpture, "My Angel", by Eduardo Oropeza to Mayor Eric Garcetti for the City of Los Angeles to honor it's program, LA's BEST. This occurred at a dinner celebrating LA's BEST at the Skirball Center in L.A. on June 14, 2014.
LA's BEST is an after school enrichment program for children of Los Angeles with the highest needs and the fewest resources. It is in its 26th year and serves 28,000 students every school day.
As long time advocates and activists for arts in education and admirers of this program, the Greens saw this sculpture of an angel leading a child as an appropriate symbol of children being guided through LA's BEST.
The late artist Eduardo Oropeza, a California native, created bronze sculptures, prints, paintings and murals.
Glenn Green Galleries represent the estate of Eduardo Oropeza with whom they worked closely for 15 years. Oropeza's work is collected internationally. glenngreengalleries.com/Artists/oropeza/index.html
