Seattle, WA, October 16, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Finding the best canister vacuum cleaner today isn’t easy. There are hundreds on the market and each manufacturer tells you their machine is the best. The truth, however, is that many of them just aren’t up to the task. To help consumers make the right buying decision, Vacuum Cleaner Advisor has just released its 7th annual Best Canister Vacuum list.

Manufacturers who made the cut this year include Hoover, Miele, Bissell, Electrolux, and Eureka. In all, eight vacuums make up the list and prices range from about $50 to over $600. The vacuums were chosen based on performance, cost, consumer ratings, features and warranty.

The top canister vacuum for 2014 is the Miele Alize. This vacuum is extremely capable on hardwood floors, tile, vinyl and area rugs. Consumer ratings are fantastic and most owners praise the unit’s cleaning ability and features. The Alize has HEPA filtration, sealed system construction, variable suction controls, a stainless steel wand, an LED headlight, a 7 year warranty on the motor & casing, and much more. It is also lightweight and very quiet. Miele estimates that the vacuum will last for 20 years of residential use. The Alize costs about $650.

In second and third places respectively are the Miele Quartz and the Miele Capri. The Quartz, which is part of Miele’s S6 series of canisters, is excellent on smooth surfaces and it gets very good reviews and ratings from owners. The Capri, an S2 model, has a floor nozzle with an air driven brushbar making it more capable on carpet than the Quartz. These vacuums can usually be found in the $400 - $450 range.

The remaining vacuums in the list include the Electrolux Sanitaire SC3683A, the Bissell Zing 4122, the Hoover CH3000, the Eureka 3670G Boss, and the Eureka AirExcel 990A. All of these machines are lightweight yet powerful and they are all much less expensive than the Miele canisters. In addition, most excel on bare floors but have limited ability on carpet.
