Demanding Unpaid Minimum Wages, Alleged Former Stripper of Popular Long Island City Club Scandals Files Federal Lawsuit
New York, NY, November 05, 2014 --(PR.com)-- According to the federal court filing, the popular gentleman's club allegedly failed to pay its exotic dancers minimum wages in accordance with state and federal law. The suit also claims that the club allegedly misappropriated the dancers' tips by redistributing their tips to staff not entitled to share in said gratuities. It is further alleged that the club misclassified the dancers as independent contractors and made unlawful deductions from the dancers' wages.

The action is brought as both a collective action under the Fair Labor Standards Act and a Rule 23 Class Action under state law. In order for a current or former dancer to be included in the collective action, they must file a consent to join the lawsuit.

The Complaint alleges that the club maintained supervision and control over the dancers by requiring them to pay a fine/fee if they did not work on certain holidays, requiring them to purchase uniforms from a "House Mom" employed by the club and requiring the dancers to tip the featured DJ and manager. The suit further alleges that the club further engaged in uniform violations by failing to launder and/or maintain the dancers uniforms that they were required to wear while working.
