Denver Seminary to Launch Extension Campus in West Texas
Amarillo, TX, March 12, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Following the launch of the Washington DC extension campus this spring, Denver Seminary is excited to announce the launch of an extension campus in West Texas! Beginning fall of 2015, the new Denver Seminary West Texas campus will offer classes towards a master of arts in leadership, a master of arts in counseling ministries, and a graduate certificate in biblical and theological studies at Hillside Christian Church’s West Campus in Amarillo, Texas. Initially, students will be able to complete up to 49 percent of their coursework in Amarillo. Denver Seminary will petition for the 2016–2017 academic year to allow completion of the full degree at the West Texas campus!

Through a flexible online and on-campus delivery system, students in West Texas can attend seminary classes that incorporate evening, weekend intensive, face-to-face, and online class options, as well as real-time compressed video classes with other campuses. Whether full or part-time, students can take advantage of a curriculum that provides the strong theological and biblical foundation needed for ministry. Along with rigorous academics, students will receive support and guidance from individual mentors who will help them focus on spiritual formation and ministry skill development through personalized learning that fits individual interests and callings.

Dr. Mark Young, President of Denver Seminary, states, “We are thrilled to partner with Hillside Christian and a number of other churches to bring accredited, graduate-level, theological education to West Texas. We believe that solid theological training is a critical foundation for credible and effective ministry. Denver Seminary provides exactly that!”

Hillside Christian Church, pastored by Tommy Politz, is a non-denominational church with a mission to “love God as we lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.” With eight campuses throughout West Texas and California, Hillside believes in the importance of developing disciple-makers through worship, growth, service, sharing, and giving.

Regarding the partnership, Pastor Politz states, "On behalf of the many churches and Christian institutions in West Texas, Hillside Christian Church is honored to partner with Denver Seminary to provide accredited seminary training and advanced degrees to those called to ministry in this region. This unique partnership affords the next generation of men and women the opportunity to gain theological and biblical training from a highly respected and renowned seminary.”
