Naber.ly, New NYC Startup, Rivals Apartment Brokers

This new NYC-based startup is a cheaper, on-demand alternative to apartment brokers.

Naber.ly, New NYC Startup, Rivals Apartment Brokers
New York, NY, July 16, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Naber.ly aims to disrupt the broker fee-dominated system and reinvent renting in New York City.

Naber.ly, which is a new type of apartment search platform, is poised to launch in New York City in the summer of 2015. The company simplifies the rental process by connecting renters and landlords directly, and providing scheduled and on-demand viewings with apartment showers called Access Attendants.

The service is free to try, allowing renters to view their first apartment with an Access Attendant at no charge, after which it’s $9 per appointment. Instead of the 12% - 15% of a year’s rent it generally costs to use an apartment broker, Naber.ly charges a flat, one-time service fee of $649 at the lease signing.

In a housing market which has over 2 million rental apartments but a vacancy rate of less than 4%*, securing suitable housing has long been prohibitively expensive and difficult for many New York renters. In response, Naber.ly is positioning itself as the new standard for finding, viewing, and renting apartments quickly and cheaply, and for creating much needed transparency in the process.

Despite having caught the attention of the investor community, Naber.ly is presently focused on its crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo. In taking this approach, the co-founders hope to build the service from within the same community it aims to serve.
