)-- The L. Ron Hubbard Theatre, sponsored by Galaxy Press and located in Hollywood, one block west of the Chinese Theatre, features the performance of The Green God on Saturday, August 8 and 15. The Green God was Hubbard’s first commercially published story, and the first of 91 action and adventure tales written between 1934 and 1991.
The performance features actor Gary Imhoff (“The Green Mile”). He has over 35 years of professional experience in film, television and theatre and over 26 years experience teaching beginning to professional level students as part of his Los Angeles based Professional Artists Workshop and Musical Artists Workshop. As a director, he won two Best Director Awards for the world premier of Just 45 Minutes from Broadway and one for the smash hit production of A.R. Gurney’s Sylvia at the Edgemar Theatre.
Story description: Tortured with knives and threatened with a slow, painful death: things are getting really nasty for Lieutenant Bill Mahone of Naval intelligence. The entire Chinese city of Tientsin is under siege from within, and all because the city’s sacred idol, The Green God, has been stolen. Convinced he is hot on the trail of the jade deity, he is relentless in its pursuit, but is walking on a razor’s edge between a touch of heaven and the taste of hell.
