Los Angeles, CA, August 21, 2015 --(PR.com
)-- A new card game announced today promises to add some fun, satire and laughter to the 2016 elections. Election: A Satirical Card Game is a blend of Poker and War, just like US politics. Designed for 2-4 players, the first person to buy, steal or win the most state electoral votes, wins the highest office in the land. The scenarios outlined in the “War Chest” and the “Campaign Trail” decks are often drawn from real events that have happened in past election campaigns, adding to the fun facts of absurdity. A Kickstarter campaign is under way to raise money for the game’s production at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/969227961/election
“We are about to get inundated with the constant shenanigans of the primary and general elections,” said Jaime Hartwick, creator of Election. “This game lets us ride out this dog and pony show with a bit of laughter and some shots for those who want to make it into a drinking game. Election gives everyone a shot at winning the game of politics.”
Election has everything the Presidential election process has, but shouldn’t. Players may steal a state, steal an election, or block an opponent by lawyering up for a recount or using voter suppression. Each player's hand consists of cold hard cash and political strategies that both capture and make fun of our screwball election process. During game testing, many players found ways to turn the game into a drinking game for added fun. However you play the Election game, drunk or sober, the goal is to get the most Electoral College votes and become the next President of the United States.
Those who donate to the Kickstarter campaign can get prizes such as the game, the game plus shot glasses, and a deluxe version of the game that includes more election madness that actually happened in history. Donors can choose the gift level that matches their desired prize. The game is expected to ship in February 2016.
“Of course the gauntlets have been thrown down by our Presidential Candidates,” said Hartwick. “However, the Election game can be played by people of all parties and persuasions without resulting in angry political fights. Democrats, Republicans, Independents, Libertarians and all other parties are welcome. Donate today, and let the Election games begin!”
