Rhythmic Gymnastics Stars and Future Stars Head to San Diego for Regional Championships; Top Talent in Preview Including 2016 and 2020 Olympic Hopefuls

Coronado, CA, April 21, 2016 --(PR.com)-- As the world begins to turn its attention to the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio, in San Diego top rhythmic gymnastics athletes from the West compete for opportunities to qualify for the national championships. Athletes competing include current US National Team athletes - both junior and senior.

This event draws the best female athletes from the western United States, including top talent from USA Gymnastics levels 7 through 10. The Regional Championships take place in San Diego April 22-24 at the Emerald City Academy of Rhythmic Gymnastics training facility at the Hourglass Fieldhouse at Miramar College.

Over 100 level 7 and 8 gymnasts from Southern California, Northern California and Nevada will attempt to qualify to compete individually and as part of a regional team at the US national championships, as well as for the coveted Athlete of the Year honors in their level.

USA Senior National Team members Anastasia Generalova and Brigita Budginas and USA Junior National Team members Lili Mizuno and Kristina Sobolevskaya will also compete, along with approximately 50 other level 9 and 10 athletes for athlete of the year honors, and as a prelude to the National Qualifier and US National Championships.
