One of the most anticipated moments for a parent is the sound of their child’s first words. But what if those words don’t come?

Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist Releases Her Second Children’s Book and Offers Parents Advice for Teaching Their Toddler to Talk
Pequot Lakes, MN, May 12, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Chatterbox Books Inc. is proud to announce the release of their second educational children’s book, "Talk with Me, The Big Book of Exclamations 2." Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist Teri Peterson, MSCCC/SLP knows how to get toddlers talking and has designed her second book with that sole purpose. “My books are filled with all of the first gestures, sounds, words, and phrases a toddler learns to use,” says Teri. “The beautiful, diverse illustrations depict a toddlers daily routine and similar to a wordless book, there is no story to read. Instead, each illustration has suggestions for encouraging your child to imitate you and practice using gestures and saying sounds & words during story time.”

Parents need to understand they are their child’s first and most important teacher. Often they don’t realize the significant impact language has on a toddler’s brain development. “Our books show parents how to elevate their story time routine in order to optimize their child’s language learning and stimulate brain development,” says Teri.

Tedi Stoe, Director of Marketing at Chatterbox Books added, “Customers have been asking us to update our first book by adding diversity and we responded. With over 15,000 copies of our first book sold, we realized it was time.”

Chatterbox Books, is a small family owned publishing company which designs books for typically developing infants and toddlers along with children who have speech-language delays and/or disorders. Speech-Language Pathologists and Early Intervention professionals are using the book to teach parents how to enrich their toddler’s early language development. “Our goal is to get Talk with Me into the hands of every parent with a 12 month old baby as the strategies outlined encourage language learning, get toddlers talking, and stimulate brain development,” says Teri. “This is our passion.”
