)-- Maureen Hillman Pastine of Plainville, Kansas has been honored as a Lifetime Member by Strathmore’s Who’s Who Worldwide Edition for her outstanding contributions and achievements for over 40 years in the field of publishing.
About Maureen Hillman Pastine
Ms. Hillman Pastine is an Author who writes nationally. She is currently responsible for writing grants and fundraising efforts. She retired from her career in library administration where she taught American Library Association accredited courses in graduate library schools in 10 states. She previously led educational exchanges in numerous countries, and gave presentations.
After obtaining a B.A. in English, with a Minor in Journalism and Art from Fort Hays State University in 1967, Ms. Hillman Pastine went on to receive a M.L.S. from Emporia State University. She received the Distinguished Alumni Graduate Library School Award from Emporia State College and the Distinguished Alumni Award from Fort Hays State University in 2002. She is affiliated with Beta Phi Mu.
Ms. Hillman Pastine grew up in Hays, Kansas with her four siblings, spending much of their free time on her parent’s farm searching for arrowheads, fossils, iron pyrite, Kansas rock crystals and even a few small magnets from outer space. She considers Edna Mae Reidel, her one room school teacher from the Ford School, her mentor and friend. Annual family reunions have kept her connected to family, and visits home have kept her connected with neighbors. She credits her parents and grandparents for providing her with a good education and inspiring her by hard work and dedication to each other, friends, and a good life with strong commitments to history, art, culture and her community, and continuing growth and development with connections and togetherness in her life.
Ms. Hillman Pastine and her husband live part of the year in Kansas and part of the year in Arizona. In her spare time she enjoys writing, reading and travel.
