IMPACT Group Releases 18-Month Relocation Report on Engagement, Productivity and Happiness

When it comes to relocation, HR must get the right people to all the right places to grow the business. But, it's important to realize you're not moving goods, you're moving people. Everyone in the home is affected differently by the move – even Fido. Amidst the challenges, chaos, and excitement of moving, what matters most to their relocation success? And, when it’s all said and done, would they do it over again? This survey captures why mobility must be tied directly to career development.

IMPACT Group Releases 18-Month Relocation Report on Engagement, Productivity and Happiness
St. Louis, MO, February 27, 2018 --(PR.com)-- IMPACT Group, a global career coaching firm, releases "The People Perspective on Relocation" – an employee and family experience report sharing the effects of relocation on employees, spouses/partners and families.

After surveying 3,078 employees and spouses/partners whom the firm supported between Q1 2016 and Q2 2017, the data reveals relocating employees (when provided with the right relocation support) feel more engaged, more productive and happier after the move.

Key Findings:

Productivity Soars: 73% of employees report being more productive at work when they receive integration support.

Relocation Motivators: Personal career development is the driving force for relocation acceptance – not promotions or compensation.

Empowered & Engaged Employees: 75% report extremely high levels of engagement after the move.

Millennial Success: 97% of Millennial rate their relocation a success, despite the newness of it all.

Advance Skills (Increase in Job Offers): Dual-income partners substantially increase job search skills (Résumé Skills: +308%, Negotiating +147%, Personal Branding +267%, Networking 175%, Interviewing +116%) and 43% receive 2 or more offers.

More Time, More Smiles: 80% report that IMPACT Group saved them time to focus on the job, family and integrating into the new community.

Relocating Kids: 79% of kids adjust to new community in less than 6 months.

"From the roller coaster of emotions our ‘relocators’ experience to making transitions more productive and less stressful, this report demonstrates how unique the relocation experience really is for each employee and those who journey with them," said Lauren Herring, CEO of IMPACT Group. "I encourage HR leaders to read and learn how relocation is truly a career development tool that can help empower and grow great careers."
