FORCAM to Showcase Starship Robotics Team, a Member of First Robotics at IMTS 2018; FORCAM to Showcase Manufacturing Leaders of the Future - Kids of Starship Robotics

FIRST Robotics team will demonstrate their award-winning skills and lead discussion of STEM education. The future of manufacturing is in the hands and minds of today’s students, and FORCAM will celebrate that future at two events in Chicago in the fall of 2018. FORCAM will host the Starship Robotics team from Eleanor Roosevelt High School of Eastvale, at both Hannover Messe USA, part of IMTS 2018 from Sept. 10-15 at Chicago’s McCormick Place.

Cincinnati, OH, August 15, 2018 --(PR.com)-- “FORCAM long has been a supporter of the First ROBOTICS program, which provides hands -on training and personal instruction to high school students. This introduction into robotics will help us identify and develop the next generation of manufacturing leaders,” said Manfred Heisen, Chief Executive Officer at FORCAM USA. “We are honored to have the Roosevelt team with us in Chicago for these events.”

The Starship Robotics team is one of hundreds of teams around the country that participate in the FIRST Robotics program. FIRST Robotics provides high school students with mentoring in the fields of mechanical engineering, electronics, software development and robotics. The program also provides an opportunity to apply for more than $80 million in college scholarships at a time when manufacturing is looking to attract and retain the next generation of manufacturing workers.

At Hannover Messe USA – IMTS 2018, FORCAM will be in booth 121803 as part of the Digital Factory pavilion on Level 2 of the East Hall at McCormick Place. The students will demonstrate the outcome of that mentoring effort and will create an interactive experience with booth attendees.

The Starship Robotics team, named ROBATS, will make a similar presentation at FORCAM’s 4thSmart Factory World Symposium at DMDII in 2019, the world-class, first-of-its-kind manufacturing research hub in Chicago. As a unique public-private partnership, DMDII has the capabilities, innovative spirit, and collaborative expertise to transform American manufacturing by ushering in the digital revolution—a venue perfect for highlighting the work of these high school students and their mentors.

“The skills gap in manufacturing is widening at a rapid pace. FIRST helps bridge the skills gap with an excellent robotics program geared towards our youth that substantially increases STEM knowledge and helps ready them for STEM careers. But manufacturers do not just need talent that is skilled in STEM fields they also need young talents that show up to work and support various areas in assembly,” said Bill Metz, Vice President Operations at Richards Industries, a local SME in Cincinnati, Ohio and customer to FORCAM.

At IMTS 2018, FORCAM will be in booth 121803 as part of the Digital Factory pavilion on Level 2 of the East Building at McCormick Place. The company will exhibit its MESA-compliant Industrial IOT platform, FORCAM FORCE™, and unique product suite that uses Open API standards to enable total Connectivity and Interoperability with pre-configured solution packages. FORCAM guarantees Connectivity and Interoperability for all Best-in-Class applications and Third-Party-Solutions as well as homegrown systems.

The FORCAM presentation at Hannover Messe USA will focus on the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and FORCAM’s offerings in the areas of connectivity and interoperability for the plant floor. The booth will include presentation areas for its popular Shop Floor Talk sessions that will offer thought leadership around IIoT – plant productivity - asset performance – predictive analytics – and legacy device connectivity.

FORCAM also will feature partner demonstration stations that will show FORCAM FORCE™ in operation with such industry leading technology as Wago’s I/O Controller, Predictronics predictive analytics software, and Advantech’s industrial PC and I/O controller connectivity for legacy devices.

Joining Predictronics and Advantech as booth partners with FORCAM are the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), AMark Consulting, Frost & Sullivan’s Manufacturing Leadership Council, and JobsOhio.

Co-joining FORCAM’s booth is partner Infor, the leading provider of beautiful business applications specialized by industry and built for the cloud. For more information on this partnership, visit https://www.infor.com/company/news/pressroom/pressreleases/infor-forcam-collaboration/
